I've heard Neverwhere read by Benedict Cumberbatch/Natalie Dormer/James McAvoy and Octopussy read by Tom Hiddleston, but this cast on Fan Fiction is still top spot for narration. I read while listening and it was a great experience. The book pulls you in and the audio experience finishes the job with, of course, a great cast and narration of Brent Spiner but even the little bits of music and sound effects. - 5.0 out of 5 stars from Amazon Customer -- Well that was weird : Years ago when I watched the Trekkies documentary, I was reassured by the fact that there were loads of people a good bit weirder than me and with less social skills. And terrified by some of them, like the Spinerfem lady. Seems like the basis for this book. I've considered asking the actors at cons about the weirdest, scariest fans they have met, but held off. This book takes the best parts of both the character Data and the real Spiner and weaves a hilariously funny drama. Spiner is both humorous and excellent at crafting a story to keep you coming back for more. I finished this read in a single day. I couldn't put it down! Thank you Mr. Spiner for sharing this work. Wonderfully & cleverly written and reads like a movie (which I hope it becomes). It's darkly funny but has heart warming moments too. I recommend this book not just to Star Trek fans but to everyone. - 5.0 out of 5 stars from Chiara Sabatini -- Really beautiful : This is the story of an actor and of his relationship with his fans. Some of them are very normal people, but unfortunately others not. So he must find even a bodyguard to protect himself from one crazy fan. This book seems a movie, the rhythm is very fast, the events run towards the conclusion. And, you can find all the cast of Star Trek TNG. It is often hilarious, but you must think about the excesses which some fans reach. It was a wonderful, funny, witty, deep journey through Brent Spiner’s life and fantasy, that made me genuinely laugh and it also made me cry, which is something that rarely happens to me when I read a book. Kopplin -- Highly entertaining and intriguing : Brent Spiner's novel is a crime story with autobiographial elements, written in a very entertaining style, full of originality and suspense. The fictional Brent Spiner is harassed and threatened by a fan who has gone a bit overboard. This all takes place whilst he is still filming "Star Trek - The Next Generation", so many of his cast-mates make an appearance in the story.
